Liza lives for the joy of singing and teaching! Her training in classical, musical theater, jazz, and pop music makes her a versatile and effective teacher. She particularly loves to sing in choir. She has sung in a capella choirs, jazz choirs, children’s choirs, church choirs, treble choirs, and more. She has a bachelor’s degree in Music Education: Choral Emphasis from Brigham Young University, and has been studying music for 20 years. She believes that solo singing and choral singing are one and the same, and all singers should be able to do both!
Liza sang in BYU’s Concert Choir for three years, BYU Singers for two years, and served as BYU Singers president for one year. She has also sung roles in BYU operas and musicals at Hale Center Theater Orem.
She has experience teaching elementary, middle school, high school, and adult students. She loves teaching basic musicianship and sight reading skills, helping students prepare for auditions and refine their stage presence, and helping students develop consistent, beautiful tone for all styles of solo or choral singing.
In her free time, Liza also loves photography, boating, reading, exercising, and really good food.
