2020 UVAA Summer Opera Festival

Since 2011 UVAA has been producing its annual Summer Opera Festival, which now attracts hundreds of applicants from all over the world each year. Singers from high school ages on up seek the performance opportunities and training that will build their resumes and help them ascend to the next level on their career paths. Metropolitan Opera tenor and TV personality, Anthony Laciura joins Dr. Isaac Hurtado, Maestro Nicolas Giusti and a full staff of guest artists, coaches and teachers to produce 2 operas, opera scenes performances, a comprehensive high school program and a Dramatic Voices program. The 2020 season will include the following performances:
Les contes d'Hoffman (with orchestra)
Suor Angelica and Opera Scenes (with piano)
Dramatic Voices Scenes and Recital
Death By Aria show and competition
High School Opera Scenes and Recital
Guest artists are selected from the pantheon of great performers, teachers and agents. Recent guests have included Deborah Voigt, Stanford Olsen, Frank Lopardo, Allan GLassman, Darrell Babidge, Wendy Bryn Harmer, and Peter Randsman.

Limited scholarships are available.
*Housing, transportation, and food costs for out of state participants are not included. Housing is typically arranged through assistance of UVAA and the cost usually ranges from $400-800 depending on the particular accommodations.
Utah Vocal Arts Academy will be using Yaptracker for our applications this season. Applications will be made available in October, 2019.
